Murray

He has gone past his sell by date within this season.

He just doesn’t offer any real threat at this level any more. If you take out his penalties this season, and his brace against WBA Reserves, he really isn’t hitting it at all.

And the difference in threat level when Andone came on, hi space, his guile, hi strength, his willingness to turn his marker. Murray sadly offers none of that any more.

I admire Murray as much and anyone for what he has done in his time, but he has become far too easy to defend against, and so I believe his time is up.

I would just love to see Andone starting, with a Propper at 10, Stephens and Kayal at the base, and Knocky and Izq on th flanks. We’re not miles off.

Re: Murray

So, what do we think maybe of Mitrovic becoming a primary target this summer. £30m plus, surely?

Re: Murray

Never write Murray off - Palace away - prime example.

Sure Andone and others are going to be our future, as age is creeping up, but he still has another season of his contract to go and while it is unlikely he will be playing regularly next season, he will still have the know how to be a pest to defenders when he does play.

On another thread you have mentioned about POTS - I think Murray should be among the contenders, with Duffy and Dunk.

He should also be considered as our best forward ever. Scored his 100 league goals so far in 3 divisions for us, and is scoring them almost as regularly in the Premier as he did in League One. Wardy and Zamora may have been more exciting to watch but it is the consistency at every level that puts Murray ahead - he even scores regularly against Palace!
