Because he's !@#$ and Groß being German is the ideal penalty taker.

Gong you may have to except that Murray is fast becoming up there in the Wardy and Zamora legend status.

The last penalty he took, forget who that us against now, he missed, and ever since Gross has taken on that role and never missed so far. Maybe if he does miss (a German missing a penalty - do not think so) Murray will then get the job back.

Murray's hit rate for us at Penalties must be something like 2 or 3 out of every 3 or 4 taken over the years (including at Withdean when we had a terrible miss rate under Poyet).

Gross so far is 100% for us, but then again he has only taken about 3.

Murray is scum and i've not celebrated any of his goals and I never will, the sooner he f u c k s off to non league which is his level the better. I will miss booing him every time his name is read out though.

Re: Season 18 / 19 Comments

And so we had Fulham at home. Fulham have spent well in the summer and were impressive, really cannot see them being in much danger of the drop zone this season.

On reflection maybe a draw was a fair result, but when you had the chances to win it (before we went 0-2 down) you have to make them count. And so it looked like a point gained in our fightback rather than two points lost, which I think it was in reality.

Not too sure where we would be without Murray, he maybe a carthorse but consistently scores the goals and still at the top of his game, and he is about 98!

Soton away, last minute Murray penalty when a draw is celebrated like a win.

Gong - you have to accept that Murray is now our best goalscorer ever. Consistently still doing it and for us across three divisions, including the top flight, no other player can match that achievement.

Home sweet home, but nothing too sweet about the performance against Spurs, which was about as good as the weather dark, dreary, wet and cold!

Not a fun game Chesh. Largely because I was freezing and kept getting wet even 3/4 back in the west stand! I hadn't thought I would need to start wearing my layers in sept- well lesson learnt.

Thought we deserved a draw, Knockaert with a bit more composure could have had a hat trick, and thanks to Judas Murray giving away a pen we lost a game where we could have got something.

Visit to the Champions in Manchester. We came, we saw, they run all over us, they scored, but only the customary two goals. No comeback effort this time, although might have been interesting had the ref given the handball penalty near the end?

The only match where you come away thinking it was only 2-0, we did well!

A worrying note for Liverpool - the only team of late not to score two goals against us. Perhaps they are not all that at home. emoticon
