Prediction League Update and Everton at Home

Most had us down to score a goal at Arsenal, but Uwinsc continues her climb up the table by correctly predicting no scorer. While I gained the maximum points with the 2-0 and no scorer result.

It has been a few weeks since we last saw Sully on here, hope he is alright. If you are reading this we are missing you, and it is still not too late to start predicting again to climb up the league.

Cheshire (5) 15
Uwinsc (3) 11
Wedgee (1) 11
Gong (1) 7
Haddock (0) 5
Norton (0) 4
Wilts (1) 3
Sully (-) 2

As for the Everton match, we have the Internationals to come first, so plenty of time to predict.

Well 7 points from 7 games and with 3 other teams in the relegation slots it is so far looking good. Comforting is we have so far not been thrashed, and are holding our own. Maybe the biggest disappointment was not to get at least a draw at Bournemouth, with their current poor form, but still keep out of the bottom three and job for this season done!

The most pleasant surprise has been the fans, dominant in nearly all the matches home and away. No idea why but the Premier League has certainly raised the support to another level. Last time round in the top flight it was the opposite, never reaching the levels gained in our rise to the old First Division, but then again it was the 70's and an entirely different cultural setting from today's world!

I overheard some, and spoke personally with other, Arsenal fans on the train post match, and without exception they felt we were the loudest ad most persistent fans at the Emirates this season, and some said for many years. It was a bloody good effort, you can really tell the players appreciate it,meven in defeat.

Well done on your 5 Chesh.

Wedgee is taking advantage of the international break with a 12 day holiday in Florida, flying in on the morning of the Everton game!

Re: Prediction League Update and Everton at Home

The International break and we hear that Propper has scored yet again for Holland (is that 3 goals in last two International games for him), Molumby scored a hat trick for the Irish under 19's while Hemed came so close as his shot just skimmed the bar for Israel, and there are still more matches to be played.

Hemed is of course still suspended for Brighton, thanks to the judge and jury that is Sky TV, and it is assumed Murray will be fully fit to take on the striker role for the Everton match. Just realised this match is not being televised by Sky or BT and understand the weird kick off time of 1.30 on a Sunday, instead of 3pm Saturday, is for the benefit of the Indian market and a Premier League promotion. So expect to see a few Albion tops in and around Mumbai soon!

Of course the football purist will see this as yet another reason why the very soul of football has been sacrificed to the Premier Money God. While I am the first to complain that yet another match has been moved by the power of Sky and BT's money (and there is threat of more companies joining the race in the next round of TV negotiations), I am not sure it is fully at the expense of football, so far the top flight experience surpasses anything from the first year of top flight football back in 1979/1980.

Of course there is too much money in football, when one player can be brought for an unbelievable amount that would solve the problems of millions of under nourished children worldwide dying from poverty and disease, let along our own poor relying on food banks, you know the world has gone mad. However, you cannot blame the Premier League brand for promoting and marketing itself to a world that is willing to pay ludicrous amounts of money for a few years share in that brand!

My prediction 1-0 (Murray)
