Re: Season 2014-15

Week 29

18th April / 19th April '15 Fixtures

Div 1

Haddock (9) 245
Wilts (8) 240
Midland (9) 224
Cheshire (10) 217
McGetta (14) 216
Ian (11) 208
Wills (9) 203
Elmer (4) 181
-----------------
Braders (7) 179

Haddock extends his lead slightly over Wilts but it's all to play for between the two front-runners in what is surely now a two horse race for the title.

Elsewhere, McGetta scores easily the best tally of the week (14) to rocket right up onto 4th-placed Chesh's tail while at the wrong end, Braders chipped a good 3 points off his deficit to leave Elmer perilously close to replacing him in the dreaded bottom spot. Relegation beckons.

Div 2

Blimby (6) 239
------------------
Mrs Haddock (12) 222
Matthew The Gooner (7) 222
Turkey (10) 221
Sully (8) 217
Early (11) 210
Gong (6) 192
Norton (5) 167
Andy (6) 153
Uwinsc (6) 151

So everyone challenging gained on leader Blimby but it seems his earlier great form has left him cushion enough. Big mover this week is Mrs Haddock with a division's best 12 to climb two places to 2nd and Early had a good week further down the ranks, but it's all grappling in the dark with Blimby seemingly set to crack open that celebratory champagne.

Oh and what is it with Gong and 6's??......that's five consecutive weeks he's scored that number now. Weirdo!!!

Two weeks of the season to go!!! Who's gonna win the title or go up or down???!!!

Week 30 - PENULTIMATE TABLE OF THE SEASON

25th April / 26th April '15 Fixtures

Div 1

Haddock (10) 255
Wilts (8) 248
Midland (9) 233
McGetta (12) 228
Cheshire (10) 227
Ian (5) 213
Wills (9) 212
Elmer (7) 188
-----------------
Braders (8) 187

Haddock extends his lead going into the final weekend, but Wilts could still feasibly overtake [sign in to see URL]'s going to be tense but Haddock is well and truly in the box seat.

McGetta top-scored for the second week in a row to take up 4th place and Braders has picked off another point - he's now just one away from safety (remember he'd go above Elmer on week's best rule next weekend if he levels the seasons' tallies). Dramatic!

Div 2

Blimby (5) 244
------------------
Mrs Haddock (9) 231
Turkey (9) 230
Matthew The Gooner (7) 229
Sully (10) 227
Early (12) 222
Gong (7) 199
Norton (5) 172
Andy (10) 163
Uwinsc (6) 157

Surely Blimby is there?!! He's had another 4 points trimmed off his lead but Mrs H, Turkey and Matthew look too far adrift now. Turkey is the only person to move up a place although Early's top-scoring 12 is noteworthy as he closes in on Sully.

With Andy outscoring Uwinsc again the wooden spoon seems to be gift-wrapped and awaiting postage to Uwinsc Towers!!!

Next [sign in to see URL] FINALE!!!

Re: Season 2014-15

WILTS IS CHAMPION!!!!!!!!

Week 31 - THE FINAL STANDINGS

2nd May / 3rd May '15 Fixtures

Div 1

WILTS (16) 264
Haddock (8) 263
Cheshire (18) 245
Midland (10) 243
McGetta (9) 237
Ian (7) 220
Wills (5) 217
Elmer (7) 195
-----------------
Braders (6) 193

What an incredible finale to the season! Wilts snatches the title at the last moment by virtue of his League 1 picks MK Dons and Bristol City scoring him an astonishing THIRTEEN goals between them on the Sunday!!!...Bristol City's 8 goal haul really making the difference.

Amazingly Wilts DIDN'T top-score though, as Chesh also had those teams and managed a week's tally of EIGHTEEN!!!! to overhaul Midland for 3rd place.

At the bottom, Braders couldn't quite manage the extra point gain he needed to sink Elmer, despite Elmer's beatable score of 7, instead slipping back a point and disappearing through the trapdoor to Div 2.

Div 2

Blimby (7) 251
------------------
Matthew The Gooner (12) 241
Mrs Haddock (10) 241
Sully (8) 235
Turkey (5) 235
Early (4) 226
Gong (8) 207
Norton (7) 179
Andy (8) 171
Uwinsc (4) 161

Congratulations to long-term leader Blimby, who completed his title triumph despite a 5-point gain from Matthew. He joins the elite next season and deservedly so after a very consistent season.

At the other end it's commiserations (and humiliations!!! emoticon) to Uwinsc on receiving the wooden spoon in her debut [sign in to see URL] you jealous she's snatched your prize, Norts??!! emoticon

Thanks to everyone for taking part. See you next season!
