Season 2014-15

Welcome to the new season. Here's the update for the first weekend of the competition (16th /17th August).

Div 1

Midland 9
Elmer 8
Haddock 8
Wilts 6
Braders 5
Cheshire 4
Wills 4
Ian -
Sharon -
McGetta -
Dave -
The Cloak -
Al -

Div 2

Blimby 11
Mrs Haddock 8
Early 8
Matthew The Gooner 8
Norton 8
Gong 5
Turkey 4
Sully 4
Andy -
Uwinsc -
Mrs Wills -
Quadrant -

So a leading start to Midland's first season in the top flight following promotion. A few absentees including champion Sharon at the moment. They will have until the end of October to join the top flight comp. Later entry will be permitted but only into the second division.

Blimby joined last season's top flight too late to avoid relegation but he's made a winning start with the best score in either division (the only double figures tally).

Week 2's update to follow later tonight after Man City v Liverpool.

Re: Season 2014-15

Week 2 -

23rd / 24th August 2014

Div 1

Cheshire (13) 17
& Wills (13) 17
Haddock (8) 16
Elmer (7) 15
Midland (4) 13
Wilts (6) 12
Braders (6) 11
Ian (8) 8
McGetta -
Dave -
Sharon -
The Cloak -
Al -

A storming week for Chesh and Wills cruelly deprives steady Haddock of the early title reins.

Div 2

Early (14) 22
Turkey (14) 18
& Sully (14) 18
Blimby (7) 18
Mrs Haddock (9) 17
Matthew The Gooner (8) 16
Gong (10) 15
Norton (3) 11
Andy -
Uwinsc -
Mrs Wills -
Quadrant -

A stunning week for top-scoring Early, Turkey and Sully (14) each propels them all to the top of the leading pack with Early the cream of the crop. A nosebleed likely to follow due to altitude sickness!!!

Unfortunately Norts' solid start couldn't be maintained as she slumps to the foot of the table.

Still some "no shows" including lost BUMBers Al, Dave and The Cloak. They're losing ground fast.

Re: Season 2014-15

Week 3

30th / 31st August 2014

Div 1

Haddock (4) 20
Wills (3) 20
Ian (11) 19
Braders (8) 19
Elmer (4) 19
Cheshire (2) 19
Wilts (5) 17
Midland (4) 17
McGetta (5) 5
Dave -
Sharon -
The Cloak -
Al -

A dreadful week for pacesetters Chesh (2) and Wills (3) allows Haddock to 'sneak to the peak'.

Just off top are the week's big movers: 8-point Braders and 11-point [sign in to see URL] only he hadn't taken that holiday without internet access for Week One!!!!

Div 2

Blimby (10) 28
Early (5) 27
Sully (5) 23
Turkey (4) 22
Matthew the Gooner (5) 21
Mrs Haddock (3) 20
Gong (3) 18
Norton (4) 15
Uwinsc - (4) 4
Andy -
Mrs Wills -
Quadrant -

Blimby looks like he means business. An impressive 10 points (easily the highest in the division) propels him top as he seeks an immediate return to the top flight.

There's an international break this weekend - BOOOORING!!!!!! - so see you next time!

Re: Season 2014-15

Week 4

13th / 14th September 2014

Div 1

Ian (12) 31
Wilts (12) 29
Midland (9) 26
Haddock (6) 26
Braders (6) 25
& Cheshire (6) 25
Wills (5) 25
Elmer (5) 24
McGetta (9) 14
Dave -
Sharon -
The Cloak -
Al -

Ian's second successive score-topping week - albeit shared this time with Wilts (12 points each) - propels them to the top two placings, with Midland up to third after a strong week.

McGetta has also picked up after a moderate opening week (he joined this season's comp late).

Div 2

Blimby (13) 41
Early (5) 32
Turkey (9) 31
Mrs Haddock (9) 29
Matthew The Gooner (8) 29
Sully (4) 27
Gong (7) 25
Norton (0) 15
Uwinsc - (5) 9
Andy -
Mrs Wills -
Quadrant -

I have a feeling Blimby is going to blitz this division big time. Despite a very late entry to last season's top flight, he nearly pulled off a miracle in surviving, but with a full season of fixtures before him this time around, he's looking very good already.

The 'foodies' also had a good week (Mrs Haddock and Turkey, with 9 each), but Early has managed to hold on to 2nd for now at least.

Norton, on the other hand, didn't have a very good week at [sign in to see URL] dear!!!

Still no sign yet of our absentees from last season including Div 1 champion Sharon.

Stay tuned for details of the first transfer window date in the near [sign in to see URL] international footy!!!

Re: Season 2014-15

Week 5

20th / 21th September 2014

Div 1

Wilts (10) 39
Ian (7) 38
Midland (10) 36
Cheshire (8) 33
Haddock (7) 33
Elmer (7) 31
Wills (6) 31
Braders (4) 29
McGetta (5) 19
Dave -
Sharon -
The Cloak -
Al -

Wilts has mounted the summit despite Ian having 6-goal MK Dons in his squad, while Midders keeps up his good form.

The slow movers this week are the basement boys!

Div 2

Blimby (6) 47
Matthew the Gooner (11) 40
Turkey (8) 39
Gong (13) 38
Early (4) 36
Sully (8) 35
Mrs Haddock (6) 35
Norton (9) 24
Uwinsc - (4) 13
Andy -
Mrs Wills -
Quadrant -

Blimby is still comfortably in the lead but Matthew has stormed up the ranks to claim 2nd. However top honours go to Gong who's 13 goal haul sees him steaming up the table.

Re: Season 2014-15

Week 6

27th / 28th September 2014

Div 1

Wilts (11) 50
Haddock (11) 44
Midland (7) 43
Ian (5) 43
Cheshire (9) 42
Wills (9) 40
Elmer (8) 39
Braders (8) 37
McGetta (9) 28
Dave -
Sharon -
The Cloak -
Al -

Top scorers this week are Wilts and Haddock, who are also top dogs overall.

Still no sign of entry by the other candidates for Div 1 - must enter by the end of the forthcoming transfer window later this month (October) to be eligible.

Div 2

Blimby (11) 58
Matthew the Gooner (9) 49
Turkey (9) 48
Sully (10) 45
Early (9) 45
Gong (4) 42
Mrs Haddock (5) 40
Norton (4) 28
Uwinsc - (4) 17
Andy -
Mrs Wills -
Quadrant -

Favourite Blimby stretches his advantage in Div 2 while there were also excellent weeks for the chasing pack. Matthew and Turkey kept their places while Sully and Early also entered the frame ahead of Gong, who had a stuttering weekend. (Sully squeezed ahead of Earls in a particularly strong week for him.)
