Re: Season 2013-14

Week 11 (9th / 10th Nov)

Forgot to update the last action (weekend of PL/Cham/FACUP 1st Rd). All other FA Cup rd weekends won't count til semi-finals but this one does as everyone is definitely playing!

Here's the update:

Div 1

Sharon (9) 79
Ian (9) 68
Wilts (4) 61
Braders (7) 58
& Cheshire (7) 58
Dave (6) 57
Elmer (5) 57
Gong (4) 53
Haddock (5) 49
McGetta (3) 45
-----------------
Midland (5) 38
Blimby (5) 20

Sharon and Ian are stretching away in the leading positions! Blimby keeps his average of 5.

Div 2

The Cloak (3) 74
Al (8) 71
Andy (6) 70
----------------
Uwinsc (3) 70
Matthew The Gooner (4) 69
Wills (4) 68
Locky (4) 66
Mrs Haddock (6) 63
Mrs Wills (7) 59
Turkey (6) 57
Early (5) 56
Gina (6) 55
Norton (10) 53
Gus The Puppy (7) 53
Goughie (2) 44
Quadrant (6) 33

So Quadders closed the gap at the bottom, Gus The Puppy dropped a place despite a highish score of 7 as Super Norton continues to fly with the week's [sign in to see URL] that's right - BEST - tally in either division (10).

Meantime Uwinsc pays the price for a low score (3) as she is overtaken by now promotion-placed Al and Andy, who are closing in on the Dark One!

Next matches this weekend.

Re: Season 2013-14

Week 12 (23rd / 24th Nov)

Div 1

Sharon (13) 92
Ian (5) 73
Wilts (3) 64
Braders (5) 63
& Cheshire (5) 63
Dave (4) 61
& Elmer (4) 61
Gong (5) 58
Haddock (6) 55
McGetta (3) 48
-----------------
Midland (6) 44
Blimby (3) 23

The outstanding Sharon scored the week's highest tally of 13 with her Man City, Leeds, Orient, Aguero combo to significantly extend her lead at the top to a towering 19 points.

Ian lost ground on her but still managed to extend his lead over third.

At the other end, McGetta has slipped 3 points closer to the trapdoor after a bad week shared with late-comer Blimby, who's form sees two '3's out of the last 3 weeks of action. The task ahead of him is daunting but don't write him off yet.

Div 2

The Cloak (11) 85
Andy (8) 78
Al (6) 77
----------------
Uwinsc (6) 76
Wills (7) 75
Matthew The Gooner (2) 71
Mrs Haddock (6) 69
Locky (2) 68
Mrs Wills (4) 63
Turkey (5) 62
Early (4) 60
Gina (4) 59
Norton (5) 58
Gus The Puppy (2) 55
Goughie (1) 45
Quadrant (5) 38

And Div 2's leading light also top-scored (11) to extend his advantage in the promotion places. The Cloak is now 7 points clear of 2nd and 9 from the chasing pack, while Andy regains second place ahead of steady performer Al.

Down in the depths, Quadrant gained ground on the 'characters' above him while Norton furthers her cause for mid-table mediocrity with a safe 5.

It comes to something when The Cloak is beating us all apart from Sharon.

Mind you it could be worse if Gus the puppy was winning - think it would be time to retire gracefully!!!

Haha! Indeed. The Cloak is an awesome adversary, it seems.

The Shadowy One is an enigma and an unstoppable force.

Gus The Puppy, on the other hand, is a doe-eyed sap, as likely to be promoted as Yeovil FC!!! emoticon

Re: Season 2013-14

Week 13 (30th Nov / 1st Dec)

Div 1

Sharon (4) 96
Ian (3) 76
Braders (8) 71
Cheshire (5) 68
Dave (6) 67
Wilts (3) 67
Elmer (4) 65
Haddock (6) 61
Gong (2) 60
McGetta (3) 51
-----------------
Midland (4) 48
Blimby (5) 28

So despite a low score of 4, Sharon has managed to extend her lead by a point over Ian.

A second consecutive 3 has cost Wilts three places as this week's top-scorer for the division Braders (8) + Chesh and Dave all capitalise.

Haddock climbs above old relegation rival (from two years ago) Gong with his decent tally of 6, while McGetta's three straight 3's has left him in serious danger of dropping into the dreaded relegation [sign in to see URL] has gained ground in each but one week since his late arrival on the scene and Midders has also made up ground this month (Nov).

Div 2

The Cloak (4) 89
Uwinsc (9) 85
Andy (4) 82
---------------
Al (4) 81
Wills (5) 80
Mrs Haddock (8) 77
Locky (7) 75
Matthew The Gooner (3) 74
Early (7) 67
Mrs Wills (4) 67
Gina (5) 64
Turkey (2) 64
Gus the Puppy (5) 60
Norton (2) 60
Goughie (3) 48
Quadrant (2) 40

The start-of-play top three all scored 4, leaving the way open for Uwinsc to race back into the shake-up with the week's best total (in either division) of 9. She has The Dark Lord in her sights now too.

Mrs Haddock and Locky are the other big movers towards the dividing line with Early also making very good ground.

Not a good week for Norts and Quadders!

Re: Season 2013-14

Week 14 (14th Dec / 15th Dec)

After a week's break for the FA Cup shenanigans, we returned to action with the following results:

Div 1

Sharon (11) 107
Ian (4) 80
Braders (5) 76
Wilts (5) 72
Cheshire (4) 72
Dave (4) 71
Elmer (4) 69
Haddock (6) 67
Gong (6) 66
McGetta (5) 56
-----------------
Midland (3) 51
Blimby (7) 35

Sharon easily top-scored with 11 to hugely strengthen her grip on the title. She is now a towering 27 points clear of Ian, with others trailing even further behind in her wake. Is starting to look like her's for the taking already! Meantime, congratulations to her on being the first into three-figures.

Elsewhere, Wilts managed to scrabble up a couple of places, Haddock scored a third consecutive 6 (middle-order consistency!) and late-starter Blimby continues to make up ground on the long walk to survival.

Div 2

The Cloak (8) 97
Uwinsc (9) 94
Wills (10) 90
----------------
Al (7) 88
Andy (6) 88
Mrs Haddock (9) 86
Locky (6) 81
Matthew The Gooner (3) 77
Early (6) 73
Mrs Wills (3) 70
Turkey (4) 68
Norton (7) 67
Gina (3) 67
Gus the Puppy (1) 61
Goughie (1) 49
Quadrant (6) 46

Uwinsc's excellent recent form has seen her clip another point off Cloaky's lead. Just three points seperates them now.

Wills overtook Al who had overtaken Andy - Wills' divisional best of 10 securing him a promotion place for now but Mrs Haddock has continued her good form to sneak up on the blindside towards the action.

Re: Season 2013-14

Week 15 (21st Dec / 22nd Dec)

Div 1

Sharon (6) 113
Ian (6) 86
Wilts (6) 78
Braders (1) 77
Cheshire (3) 75
Elmer (4) 73
Dave (2) 73
Gong (5) 71
Haddock (2) 69
McGetta (6) 62
-----------------
Midland (5) 56
Blimby (6) 41

So yet another good week for leader Sharon. Her lead is preserved after a respectable 6 points could only be matched by the chasing Ian.

Braders in 3rd scored an awful 1 to drop out of contention, replaced by Wilts, who's star continues to rise. Elmer's disappointing season continues with a 4th successive score of 4!!!

All of the week's 'starting bottom four' did well at Haddock's nerve-induced [sign in to see URL] be in danger again if he doesn't bounce back.

Div 2

The Cloak (7) 104
Uwinsc (5) 99
Al (8) 96
----------------
Wills (6) 96
Andy (6) 94
Mrs Haddock (7) 93
Locky (3) 84
Matthew The Gooner (4) 81
Mrs Wills (4) 74
Early (0) 73
Turkey (3) 71
Norton (3) 70
& Gina (3) 70
Gus the Puppy (5) 66
Goughie (3) 52
Quadrant (4) 50

The Cloak has eased the pressure on his leadership, becoming the second contestant to pass the 100 mark but Al heads a list of hopeful pretenders to the crown.

This week's donkey is Earlybird, who racked up a nice fat zero!!!
