Man City scored Andy 0 in the required play-off weekend, then Chelsea scored Wilts 1 that same weekend. Subsequently Wilts survives (just!) while Andy is relegated.                    Div 2 Haddock (5) 172 Braders (5) 169 Midland (2) 167 Ian (3) 166 =========== Wills (6) 165 Early (4) 164 Mrs Haddock (6) 163 Turkey (3) 163 Pitbull (3) 159 Matthew The Gooner (2) 158 Mrs Wills (4) 152 Gina (7) 148 Quadrant (2) 147 Bungaloosh (6) 142 Norton (4) 138 nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Thu, 23 May 2013 17:59:09 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p58483,from=rss#post58483https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p58483,from=rss#post58483quote:Captain Haddock wrote: So the drama continues. Keef (Elmer) has held on to the lead to claim the title.....CHAMPION!!! CONGRATULATIONS, KEEFY!!!!! In an incredibly tight climax, Wilts and Andy have become locked on exactly the same scores (4 this week each and 161 points each in total). As there's only 1 relegation space in an already under-represented division, it will go to a decider. Both players have L1 and L2 teams who are out of action but neither have Championship clubs so quite simply it comes down to this: Andy's Man City and Wilt's Chelsea go head-to-head this weekend. If one scores more than the other we have a "survivor" and a "non-survivor". If not we carry on to the following weekend until we do. IF the players cannot be seperated at all at PL season's end BOTH will be relegated and the 5th-placed Division 2 player will be promoted i.e Wills                   Div 2 Haddock (5) 172 Braders (5) 169 Midland (2) 167 Ian (3) 166 =========== Wills (6) 165 Early (4) 164 Mrs Haddock (6) 163 Turkey (3) 163 Pitbull (3) 159 Matthew The Gooner (2) 158 Mrs Wills (4) 152 Gina (7) 148 Quadrant (2) 147 Bungaloosh (6) 142 Norton (4) 138 CONGRATULATIONS TO, ER, ME! ON MY MASTERFUL PROMOTION CAMPAIGN. League leader for nearly the whole season, Haddock dug in when required then stretched away in the final couple of weeks for a fairly comfortable success in the end. What's been happening below has been chaos. Constant changing of positions and players crossing the line more than a Frankie Boyle routine or a habitual Mexican border dodger! In the end Haddock is joined in promotion by BRADERS, MIDDERS and IAN. CONGRATULATIONS ONE AND ALL!!! Desperately unlucky though for Wills and Early, who have been there or thereabouts all season and only just missed the cut - however, Wills has a glimmer of hope (see Div 1 summary above). It's going to go down to the last kick!!! McGetta and Sharon have missed a last chance to challenge by under-scoring and have dropped down the table too. And what's this???!!! Wilts has climbed off the foot of the table at former league-leader Andy's expense again. The Great Escape is on! If Wilts AND Andy both turn up next week, there's plenty of over-the-shoulder looking still to be done for anyone up as high as the afore-mentioned McGetta, Sharon + Blimby....but surely Dave is safe now after a decent tally of 8 this week?.......isn't he?!!                 Div 2 Haddock (6) 167 Midland (5) 165 Braders (8) 164 Ian (6) 163 =========== Turkey (8) 160 Early (1) 160 Wills (2) 159 Mrs Haddock (2) 157 Pitbull (3) 156 & Matthew The Gooner (3) 156 Mrs Wills (13) 148 Quadrant (10) 145 Gina (5) 141 Bungaloosh (5) 136 Norton (11) 134 Well, the promotion race is as topsy-turvy as ever! Haddock holds top-spot again after Midland's ManUre couldn't add the two second half goals vs Villa that would have seen him peak! Just one more week to hang on. Strong week's from each of Braders, Ian and Turkey have put them right up there but Turkey is still just shy of the dividing line, but it's been a very bad week for Early, Wills, Mrs H, Pitbull AND Matthew though so they have it all to do now. Notable this week was huge-scorer Mrs Wills, whose stunning 13 propelled her up and closed that lower mid-table chasm that had been present for weeks on end. Also reducing that big gap was Quadders who struck 10...and basement girl Norts has put in a late bid to avoid her familiar old wooden spoon with an impressive 11....watch out Bungaloosh!!!!! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Tue, 23 Apr 2013 18:42:37 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57985,from=rss#post57985https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57985,from=rss#post57985quote:Elmer Fudd Esq wrote: I transferred Rhodes out and brought RVP in.  :keef: You'll be feelin' better again this mornin' though!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Tue, 23 Apr 2013 18:18:26 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57891,from=rss#post57891https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57891,from=rss#post57891I transferred Rhodes out and brought RVP in.  :keef: nondisclosed_email@example.com (Elmer Fudd Esq)Thu, 18 Apr 2013 22:33:38 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57883,from=rss#post57883https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57883,from=rss#post57883Week 30   Div 1 Cheshire (5) 171 & Keef (5) 171 Sharon (6) 160 McGetta (6) 159 Dave (4) 158 Blimby (3) 156 Gong (6) 152 & Andy (6) 152 =========== Wilts (4) 150 Chesh and Keefy are locked in a desperate battle for glory with only a few weeks left! Meantime Gong and Andy have climbed back ahead of Wilts. It's getting very dramatic at both ends of the table. My bet is on "survival specialist" Gong beating the drop. Andy has been top this season so maybe he'll panic now he's near the drop zone...in a Stoke stylee?!                    Div 2 Haddock (4) 161 Midland (6) 160 Early (7) 159 Ian (7) 157 ============= Wills (4) 157 Braders (6) 156 Mrs Haddock (5) 155 Pitbull (6) 153 Matthew The Gooner (4) 153 Turkey (2) 152 Gina (6) 136 Mrs Wills (7) 135 Quadrant (6) 135 Bungaloosh (4) 131 Norton (6) 123 It's getting intensein Div 2, to say the least! Haddock STILL retains the lead but latest pretender to the throne Midland is looking the real deal with a rhino-style charge up the table, trampling on all before him. Looks good for promotion at least! Early, on-form-Ian and Mrs Wills top-scored with 7 a-piece, taking Earls back to 3rd and Ian into the play-offs at Wills' expense. Turkey has picked a disasterous time to embark on a disasterous run (that's what you get for picking Palace and Murray in the transfer window, Si!!! ), but anyone down to Turkey in 10th are still in with a shout. Who can handle the pressure?! Tick tock tick tock. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Thu, 18 Apr 2013 18:53:12 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57721,from=rss#post57721https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57721,from=rss#post57721Week 29 Div 1 Cheshire (9) 166 Keef (3) 166 Sharon (3) 154 Dave (2) 154 McGetta (5) 153 Blimby (3) 153 Wilts (10) 146 Gong (4) 146 =========== Andy (3) 146 Oh my! It's all gone crazy at once! Port Vale's mauling of their victims last Friday night (7 goals + 1 for Tom Pope) helped Chesh and Wilts turn the status quo on its head. Chesh scored nine to overhaul a Keefy who can't stop amassing tallies of just 3 per week. He now has the lead just as we start the run-in. I wouldn't bet against him now. Meantime 'bottom boy' Wilts outdid even Chesh with the week's best (10), which was just enough to overturn the rest of the deficit he's been trying to reduce on Andy and Gong. All three players now sit on 146 points but Andy has abruptly and suddenly sunk to the foot of the table by token of the week's inferior score. Congratulations to Wilts for a stunning comeback (top- / joint-top- scoring for three successive weeks now). Insanely 3rd placed Sharon, a title contender for most of the season (and still an outside bet), could feasibly go down as the table has become so tight.                 Div 2 Haddock (3) 157 Midland (9) 154 Wills (4) 153 Early (5) 152 ================= Ian (8) 150 Braders (5) 150 Mrs Haddock (4) 150 Turkey (1) 150 Matthew the Gooner (3) 149 Pitbull (4) 147 Gina (5) 130 Quadrant (4) 129 Mrs Wills (4) 128 Bungaloosh (2) 127 Norton (3) 117 Midland is the headline act this week with 9 points (thanks largely to Vale's goal-blitz). He's right up in the promotion slots and is now nearest challenger to perennial leader Haddock Wills and Early keep in the frame but Ian (with 8 points) overtook Braders who overtook Mrs Haddock who overtook woeful Turkey in a dramatic week. As tense as ever! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Sat, 13 Apr 2013 11:51:17 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57538,from=rss#post57538https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57538,from=rss#post57538Week 28 - Easter (Fri / Sat) (No scoring Sun / Mon as no 2nd PL fixtures.) Atthe bottom it's "oh dear" time for Gong who's own successive 3's have landed him back in danger. McG and Andy scored well to push him in the firing line and unfortunately for all of the above, Wilts shared top-scoring honours for the week to out-score all his rele' rivals (8). This means Gong is only 6 clear....he's always liked to flirt....with "relePation"! (sic). With only one spot, surely this can't be the year for him to finally drop through the plug-hole??!!               Div 2 Haddock (6) 154 Wills (6) 149 Turkey (2) 149 Early (6) 147 ================= Mrs Haddock (7) 146 & Matthew the Gooner (7) 146 Midland (5) 145 Braders (4) 145 Pitbull (6) 143 Ian (5) 142 Bungaloosh (8) 125 Gina (7) 125 Quadrant (6) 125 Mrs Wills (3) 124 Norton (3) 114 Haddock firms up his lead , Early is back in the play-offs and further down the table it's "let's all meet on 125 points day" as Quadrant was overtaken by Gina but Bungaloosh overtook them both!!! So here goes... Week 27 Div 1 Keef (3) 160 Cheshire (5) 149 Blimby (6) 146 Sharon (5) 144 Dave (4) 144 McGetta (1) 141 Gong (3) 139 Andy (1) 136 =========== Wilts (6) 128 Not much to say about St Paddy's weekend in Div 1 other than that Andy is sailing dangerously close to the relegation wind! He was one of the lowest scores the previous week and was joint-lowest scorer this time out with just 1 point (also McGetta). In contrast, Wilts was joint BEST scorer (alongside Blimby) with 6 points, so he narrows the gap at the bottom by 5 to a margin now of just 8 points....could he possibly pull off The Great Escape???            Div 2 Haddock (2) 148 Turkey (3) 147 Wills (2) 143 Braders (5) 141 ================= Early (1) 141 Midland (3) 140 Mrs Haddock (4) 139 Matthew The Gooner (1) 139 Ian (5) 137 Pitbull (2) 137 Mrs Wills (5) 121 Quadrant (7) 119 Gina (5) 118 Bungaloosh (2) 117 Norton (4) 111 So Haddock retains his leadership once again, Braders shoots up back into the play-offs and Quadders shoots away from the basement with a week's best - in either division - of 7 points nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Tue, 02 Apr 2013 14:21:41 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57211,from=rss#post57211https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57211,from=rss#post57211quote:Wills 25 wrote: C`mon Wills   Who are yer, who are yer?!! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Wed, 13 Mar 2013 01:30:33 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57166,from=rss#post57166https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57166,from=rss#post57166C`mon Wills   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Wills 25)Tue, 12 Mar 2013 12:43:23 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57090,from=rss#post57090https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57090,from=rss#post57090Week 26 Div 1 Keef (4) 157 Cheshire (5) 144 Dave (8) 140 McGetta (7) 140 Blimby (5) 140 Sharon (5) 139 Gong (6) 136 Andy (5) 135 =========== Wilts (5) 122 Chesh' has trimmed another point off Keefy's lead but time is ticking....will it be a case of "slowly, slowly, catchy monkey"?! Key movers this week are Div 1's top-scorer of the week Dave (8) and McGetta (7pts for third consecutive week), who have positioned themselves nicely for a cheeky title challenge. For McGetta, this would make for some story, as he was threatened with possible relegation until recently. In exact contrast to McGetta, Andy has tumbled from former leadership and recent title-outsider status to relegation possibility. He's been sitting in 2nd bottom place in recent weeks after a woeful run of form.            Div 2 Haddock (9) 146 Turkey (8) 144 Wills (9) 141 Early (7) 140 ================= Matthew The Gooner (8) 138 Midland (5) 137 Braders (2) 136 Mrs Haddock (8) 135 Pitbull (3) 135 Ian (5) 132 Mrs Wills (4) 116 Bungaloosh (9) 115 Gina (1) 113 Quadrant (2) 112 Norton (6) 107 Well, well. well! The table is finally showing possible signs of stretching out a bit. Top scorers with 9 each were Haddock. who doubles his flimsy lead at the top, Wills, who grabs 3rd place back and perennial straggler Bungaloosh who shoots up a couple of places away from the wooden spoon and partly spoilt Norton's 2nd successive 'good-scoring' week. However, Norts DOES close the gap on fellow stragglers Quadrant and Gina. Meantime Matthew and Mrs H scored very well (8 each) to push themselves forward for promotion. With only a few weeks left to go, the race for glory is hotting up. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Mon, 11 Mar 2013 18:26:50 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57048,from=rss#post57048https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57048,from=rss#post57048Don't forget there IS action this weekend, with the FA Cup games included (no longer affecting many postponements).nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Fri, 08 Mar 2013 22:57:10 +0000 Re: Season 2012-13https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57047,from=rss#post57047https://bbombmessageboard.runboard.com/p57047,from=rss#post57047Week 25 Div 1 Keef (5) 153 Cheshire (7) 139 Blimby (7) 135 Sharon (3) 134 McGetta (7) 133 Dave (4) 132 Gong (6) 130 Andy (3) 130 =========== Wilts (4) 117 So Chesh has trimmed Keef's imperious lead back a touch, Blimby has risen the ranks again from 5th to 3rd, McGetta scores 7 again to climb out of the line of fire and poor ole Wilts' future is looking ever bleaker!        Div 2 Haddock (7) 137 Turkey (7) 136 Braders (7) 134 Early (5) 133 ================= Midland (7) 132 Pitbull (6) 132 Wills (4) 132 Matthew The Gooner (7) 130 Ian (6) 127 Mrs Haddock (4) 127 Mrs Wills (6) 112 Gina (4) 112 Quadrant (7) 110 Bungaloosh (4) 106 Norton (8) 101 The race is hotting up with top 2 Haddock and Turkey high-scoring to eek a tiny gain at the business end of the table. Braders has blasted his way back into the mix with the same weekly score of 7...Mids also scored the same to move within touching distance of the promotion places. All this is bad news for sorry Wills, who tumbles down the rankings. Anyone down to 10th-placed Mrs Haddock is still in with a realistic shout in what is as tight as a duck's ar....I mean as tight as this season's League One promotion-race! There was also good scoring at the scruffy end of the div, btw, with Quadders scoring very well, but it's double congrats to NORTON on the week's best total IN EITHER DIVISION of 8 + reaching the big 100...and slightly beyond! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Captain Haddock)Fri, 08 Mar 2013 22:52:53 +0000
